Gear Trains is a core course in mechanical engineering that focuses on the analysis, design, and application of multi-gear systems used to achieve desired speed ratios, torque transmission, and motion control in mechanical devices. The course introduces students to the fundamental principles of simple, compound, reverted, and epicyclic (planetary) gear trains and equips them with analytical tools essential for designing efficient and reliable transmission systems used in automotive, industrial, and precision machinery.
