Located in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, China, Hunan Electrical College of Technology (湖南电气职业技术学院) is a high-level vocational institution with a history dating back to 1941, when its origins can be traced to an apprentice training class established by the Central Electrical Equipment Factory. The current institution was formed in 2006 through the merger of Hunan Mechanical and Electrical Workers’ University and Xiangtan Mechanical and Electrical Technology College. Covering a campus area of approximately 728 mu (48.5 hectares), the institute serves more than 10,000 full-time students and has a faculty and staff of over 600. Recognized as a national key higher vocational college in the machinery industry and a Hunan provincial exemplary (key) vocational college, it is also a construction unit under the Hunan “Double High Plan” and a pilot college of the Chuyi Craftsman Program. The institute is committed to advancing high-quality vocational education and developing skilled professionals with strong practical capabilities and industry-oriented expertise.
