Course Requirements

This module/micro course helps learners understand the concepts of gender equality and gender stereotypes. It encourages the use of innovative methods to apply egalitarian pedagogy, exploit technology, and develop entrepreneurship for women's empowerment.

Course Description

This micro course provides a starting point for learning about gender equality and women's empowerment, including gender stereotypes that women face in education, employment, and the labour market. How can these biases be reduced using innovative methods for egalitarian pedagogy and women's empowerment? It promotes participation in decision-making and economic women empowerment through gender egalitarian pedagogy.

The mini course will highlight the female role models in different disciplines globally and in Egypt. They are sources of inspiration for the women of tomorrow.

Course Outcomes

After completing the course, the learner should be able to:

  1. Understand the concepts of gender equality and inequality.
  2. Understand the basic rights of women and girls, including their right to leadership and decision-making.
  3. Know the opportunities and benefits provided by full gender equality and participation in governance.
  4. Understand the role of education in achieving gender equality, enabling women through technology, and ensuring the full participation of all genders.
  5. Identify forms of gender discrimination in education and the labour market and defend the empowerment of all genders.
  6. Suggest educational scenarios that can be applied to ensure gender equality.
  7. Use interactive pedagogies such as interactions with society and encouragement of women's leadership in the educational process.
  8. Observe and identify gender stereotypes.
  9. Analyze gender stereotypes in the curriculum.
  10. Conduct student projects, case studies, and undergraduate research to achieve gender equality, women’s empowerment, and decision-making in various disciplines.
  11. Plan, implement, and evaluate E-Teaching scenarios for gender equality.
